Today I had another photoshoot for theatre. This is my third time taking pictures! It went really well, they had everything planned and all I had to do was point and shoot. And I think I got some pretty good shots. Sean at work said, "You take good photos!" and everyone thanked me for being willing to do it.
I haven't completely decided what I'm going to do next semester job- and school-wise. I met with my adviser last week and she planted a seed in my head about going to grad school. I had never seriously considered this before! Also, she said something about that I shouldn't just settle for a graphic design "McJob" doing boring, repetitive work. The more I think about this, the more I agree.
Lately I feel like art has so much more soul than design. I know they go hand-in-hand, but graphic design seems all about perfection, advertising, and marketing. It seems to be the main creative tool for selling products or people. While this can be great, it can also be dull. Plus, I'm not trained specifically in graphic design, so maybe I shouldn't even try to get a career in that area. I'm an artist, so maybe I should just be an artist as a career. Is this possible?
So many questions! But I've got to decide soon, so I can make arrangements for the spring. And I better decide something that will make money, because I've got some major debt to pay off. College is so expensive - it better pay off!
