Hotdish girl

I finished carving my wood block today, and did a couple of proofs here at home (with my wooden spoon!).

My proofs didn't turn out too well: not enough ink rolled on. But at least I could get a feel for what the block is looking like. AND her cheeks are crazy! They are supposed to be blushing, but I didn't carve enough away. Rob said they look like creepy eyes, and her real (squinty) eyes look like her eyebrows. Eeek! So I carved away her weird cheeks, and I'm going to make a real proof on the presses in the studio tomorrow.

On an unrelated note, this is what I had for breakfast today! An old friend once made me try egg on peanut butter toast. I thought it sounded disgusting, but it is actually really good. The salty of the peanut butter mixed with the egg is delicious!

  1. I love it! She is so cute, and I really like the detail around the edges and on the dish. I can't wait to see the final prints you make =)

I also really like your new signature!
