Back in junior high, I was inspired by the hot pink hair styles of P!nk and Kelly Osbourne. I used to dye my hair a lot back in those days, but I never had the guts to actually dye it pink (or any other color, for that matter). I bought a semi-permanent blue hair dye kit once, but it sat forever in my room, unused. Too chicken.
Lately I've been inspired by the messier, lower-maintenance pink hair styles: dip dye, ombre, streaks, etc. Dyeing only parts of your hair pink seems like a good way to get that pop of color without the crazy upkeep of maintaining an entire head of hot pink. Just let your dip-dyed tips fade, or cut them off. And if you need to go somewhere/do something where you'd rather not have bright pink hair, you could hide it away in a bun.
Well, I finally took the plunge and dip dyed my hair hot pink! I did it myself (a bit scary), and mostly followed the DIY tutorial from Oh So Pretty: DIY "Dip" Dyed Hair. It's gorgeous, it's hot pink(!!) and today I feel like I'm channeling my inner Pink. Badass.
I'll share some process pics tomorrow! :)
