the Leaf Pile

Growing up, our front yard was home to a big old tree, with two smaller maple trees in the boulevard. The street was lined with tall trees, which meant that every fall, we had heaps and heaps of leaves.

My dad would rake up all the leaves, but before bagging them he would collect them at the base of the tree in the middle of the yard, and let us jump in the pile.

We loved jumping around in the leaves, but would squeal every time a ladybug would land on us. Ladybugs love leaf piles, too!

my brother and i crashing the pile before my dad could finish!

There's just something so satisfying about getting all dusty crunching around in fall leaves.
I'll always love Autumn ♥
